The Tokyo Marathon 2027 General Entry Application has opened. Sunday, March 7, 2027. Applications run from August 14, 2026, at 11:00 AM JST, through August 28, 2026, at 5:00 PM JST.
Final assessments are made based on a random selection process, where application dates do not affect the selection criteria. The essential thing is to provide correct information and fill all the necessary fields.
Lottery results will be up for grabs on September 18, 2026. Runners shall be required to make their selection by paying by 5:00 PM JST on September 30, 2026 or their selections shall be forfeited.
Tokyo Marathon 2027 Entry Fees
The Tokyo Marathon 2027 General Entry application will be accepted at no cost! Runner selection is done through a payment lottery – only pay if picked.
Overseas entrants will be charged USD 230 (plus applicable processing fees and tax in the US). The people in Japan pay JPY 19,800. If you wish to place bike bags, JPY 1,200 is charged (optional bag check fee).
Step-by-Step Tokyo Marathon Portal Signup
1. Create a ONE TOKYO Account
Assess the official page of the Tokyo Marathon 2027, and sign in with your ONE TOKYO account. It is important that new applicants register with a valid e-mail address.
Ensure that your legal name is the same as that on the passport or ID document you will be using in race-week.
2. Choose General Entry
Based on your eligibility and residency, you should choose the right General Entry type. Do not submit multiple applications within categories this may result in disqualification.
3. Complete Your Application
Fill in details about your nationality, address, emergency contact details, estimated finishing time etc.Input your nationality details, address, emergency contact, etc. and estimated finishing time. In addition, you’ll need to choose the size of your commemorative race T-shirt according to the Japanese sizing chart provided.
4. Submit Time Verification When Required
Performance documentation from officials may be required for runner’s start/finish corral consideration if they predict his/her finish time at 3:00:00 or under. The total race time is 6 hours, 30 minutes.
5. Confirm and Save Your Application ID
Carefully read through the application and sign the required waivers and return the form. You will need to keep your Application ID to check your lottery result and Application Status.

Tokyo Marathon 2027 Time Verification Rules
Successful applicants who finished a marathon or a half marathon that was certified by a recognized marathon or half marathon organization and recorded under 3:00 hours will be asked to provide the official results from the event they finished. Any half marathon time under 1:25:00 is acceptable.
The certificate to be uploaded should clearly indicate your name, race name, execution date and official finish time. GPS-watch screenshots, Strava records and results of non-certificate runs will not be accepted.
