Saudi Arabia’s travel restrictions have affected travel between India and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with major Indian airlines suspending flights until October 17, 2026. Civil aviation firms IndiGo, Air India, Air India Express and Akasa Air have announced that their operations have been cancelled due to rising security threats and attacks on Saudi aviation infrastructure in the region. Fliers heading to work, visiting family, or for religious reasons are in some doubt, as air carriers examine safety measures.

Saudi Flight Cancellations Affect Four Major Cities

IndiGo had suspended flights to and from Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Madinah till October 17. Air India discontinued the services to Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam and Akasa Air scrapped Riyadh and Jeddah. The announcements were confirmed by DD India, who said to bookers to check confirmations before they go.

Why Indian Airlines Suspended Saudi Arabia Flights

The disruption comes in the wake of missile and drone attacks attributed to regional conflict between Yemen’s Houthis and its neighbors. Saudi aviation has declared everything affected by security concerns, including Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport, closed until October 17. Aviation authorities and airlines focus on operating safely, says The Indian Express.

Air India and IndiGo Refund and Rebooking Options

People who have been affected should reach out to their airline for a refund, rebooking, or a different departure date. Air India said all the cancelled bookings have been refunded. Akasa Air has also given free cancellation or refunds and IndiGo is sending updates via registered number.

What Passengers Should Know Before October 17

Bookers must make sure that flights are on schedule and keep their booking information and try not to make any unnecessary trips to the airport. The Indian Embassy’s advisory in the reported matter underscores the need to listen to the announcements made by the airlines. Services may be reopened, but not on October 17.
