62nd baeksang arts awards 2026 winners full list
This year’s 62nd Baeksang Award ceremony took place in Seoul on May 8, 2026, concluding in a memorable event that was widely discussed in the Korean entertainment industry this year. The pavilion, located in COEX Hall D, was the venue for the prestigious ceremony which saw the best performances in Korean television, film, variety and for the first time a new musical category.
Even though the winners of the awards were bought with money, fans across Asia, particularly the Philippines, strove to get the awards onto their social media timelines. The second emotion was felt, if major stars such as Hyun Bin and Park Bo-young won the awards. Park Ji-hoon, however, made the biggest news of the night with his rare double victory.
Bundled together at the prestigious Daesang awards were two indisputably strong performances all Korean entertainment had to contend with in 2025 and at the beginning of 2026.
Veteran actor Ryu Seung-ryong, received the Grand Prize with his acclaimed performance in The Dream Life of Mr. Kim on television. He was credited with his ability to convey emotion and realism in the role while maintaining one of the critical best dramas of the year.
As a publicist, he won first prize in the film department for promoting the blockbuster historical movie ‘The King’s Warden,’ which enjoyed a huge success both in South Korea and Asia, attracting millions of audiences.
The special highlight of the evening was Hyun Bin’s winning performance for Made in Korea as Best Actor. The victory marked the start of his “villain era,” and the actor played films that had been more darker and intense compared to his previous works, fans noted.
Meanwhile, Park Bo-young won Best Actress for the Korean movie Our Unwritten Seoul. Her emotional acceptance was soon uploaded into the web, where fans’ commendations for her performance and humility took to the internet.
Netflix also had a big night at the awards as the drama You and Everything Else won Best Drama in addition to the other awards they picked up.
Former Wanna One member Park Ji-hoon was among the top stars of the ceremony.
His first success was for Best New Actor for his performance in The King’s Warden where he won favour amongst both critics and the general public with his great dramatic acting ability. He then picked up the Naver Popularity Award later that evening marking the stunning double.
It was a big breakthrough in his career, which had previously been focused on promoting his comic skills to the public, and a ton of celebration ensued in social media.
The film category had fierce competition, with a few movies rising to a high pedestal and garnering a great deal of recognition.
Best Film went to No Other Choice with Park Jeong-min taking home Best Actor for The Ugly. Actress Mun Ka-young got Best Actress for Once We Were Us.
The film won the Gucci Impact Award, which was presented for the significance of the movie’s cultural and social effects on set aside its box office success.
