Boobay becomes unresponsive during live interview with Boy Abunda

Boobay was in the middle of responding to a query from Boy Abunda when the comic unexpectedly became unable to talk and only kept nodding while glancing at the TV host.

On April 20, this took place during the “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” live show. Boobay, whose real name is Norman Balbuena, and Abunda were remembering the comedian’s GMA audition tape, which launched his career in show business.

Boobay was then asked by Abunda how he felt after receiving acclaim for his audition tape, but he remained silent and only nodded.

After the intermission, Boobay resumed the interview and related how something similar had happened to him during a recording the day before.

“We were filming ‘The Boobay and Tekla Show’ yesterday when I [quickly] lost consciousness. Maybe it was brought on by the lighting on the set and the fact that I had slept for far too little time, which was wrong,” he said.

Boobay added that despite advice to avoid overexerting himself, he did not want to pass up the opportunities that were presented to him. He continued by saying that he views giving performances for the general public as a type of rest and that he wants to conserve money for himself for as long as he can.

In the conversation, Boobay also discussed his emotional stability following the dissolution of his eight-year relationship with his ex-girlfriend in 2021. The comic acknowledged that he attempted to mend their relationship last month by taking them on a trip together, but it failed. Boobay claimed that despite this, he and his ex-partner are still friends.
