Cashless Aid Program SARa Enables Recipients to Shop for Essential Items at Participating Outlets

Recipients can shop at several participating stores if the desired essential products are unavailable.

The flexibility of buying at different stores without jeopardising the assistance received is available to SARa recipients. The programme includes a tracking feature that shows the user’s MyKad’s remaining balance. After their purchases, any unused funds will be rolled over to the following month to ensure that recipients can continue to receive aid.

For individuals who live in the peninsula, the RM600 help will be distributed monthly for six months, from July to December. The assistance would be credited as a lump payment to the Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) accounts of Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan recipients. Through the MyKad technology, the distribution procedure for peninsula recipients is expedited. The assistance will be automatically credited to the accounts of recipients who have previously opened accounts at the designated businesses using their MyKad.

The SARa aid programme will be introduced in various locations piecemeal. From the programme’s start, recipients in Terengganu, Kelantan, Kedah, Penang, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Negri Sembilan started receiving their aid. Beginning on July 31st, recipients in Johor, Melaka, Perak, Pahang, and Perlis are expected to begin receiving their SARa aid.
