Cebu Mangoes Festival 2026 Returns to Mactan

Cebu Mangoes Festival 2026 is set to be celebrated from 22 to 31 May 2026 atop the City of Cebu’s world-famous mangoes, filling up The Mactan Newtown with a large festival zone.

Celebrate the island’s agricultural past during this year’s theme of “A Sweet Journey,” which features hands-on activities, cultural shows, mango-themed challenges and food fairs. The festival is expected to draw in thousands of locals and visitors from around the globe who will come to see one of Cebu’s most unique food festivals.

Official Cebu Mangoes Festival 2026 Schedule

The festival officially kicks off on May 22 through the Mactan Newtown Road 4 Event Grounds with a high energy launch parade. From the Latin sausage stand, visitors can experience giant mango—shaped clothes, live acts, drumlines and a sharing of an incredible, giant mango Halo-Halo creation with the guests of the festivals.

The Culinary Showdown will take place from May 23rd to May 24th where culinary students and local chefs will go head-to-head. The focus of the event is on innovative mango dishes from desserts to mango-based Cebuano specialties. Throughout the weekend, there will also be large crowds attending celebrity chef demonstrations.

The largest date on this calendar is May 24th, which is a very special day – The Great Mango harvest. It is a signature event that will enable visitors to pick ripe mangoes from living trees inside the township, while being guided.

The Festival Queen Pageant continues the following evening, May 24, where the contenders are required to wear spectacular gowns that incorporate motifs from the Visayan culture and folklore traditions, and are based on “mango.”

Sustainability is on the centre stage on May 25th during the Mango Tree Planting activity. The day features a boisterous mango eating competition, which has been a highlight of the festival.

May 31 is the closing celebration, during which the popular Pets in Mango Costumes will be held, and finally, a week-long celebration with a grand finale.

Inside the Viral ‘Great Mango Harvest’

Visitors have the rare opportunity to work hands-on as a mango harvester, not just purchase fruit from vendors, and this makes the Great Mango Harvest come alive as the highlight of this festival.

Each participant will receive an official harvesting kit and be directed to an identified mango tree and they can harvest fresh mangoes within a given time. But most important, visitors have the opportunity to eat the mangoes they have successfully racked.

Once the purchase is completed, guests are asked to turn-in their purchase receipts in the official Mangoes Festival Promo Booth at the Mactan Alfresco food park. These are limited slots, which are given to first come first served.

Food Highlights You Should Not Miss

The focus of the festival experience is food. The Cebu Mangoes Food Festival will be held daily during the event at Mactan Alfresco where dozens of specialty stands will be available to try mango-inspired dishes.

For the visitors, they can experience a mango pizza, mango infused lechon, mango tropical milkshakes, dried mango delicacies and other local desserts that use Cebuano mangoes.

It is also one of the finest food events in the region this summer as several popular food establishments in Cebu will be hosting limited-edition cuisine for the festival-exclusive.
