Civil Servants who violates MCO may lose pension

KUALA LUMPUR – Civil servants including government retirees who caught violating the movement control order (MCO) may end up losing their pensiona.

Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Services (Cuepacs) president Adnan Mat said that they should always bear in mind that these are “privileges” given by the government and can be revoked anytime if they were found guilty of breaching any law.

Government ‘privileges’ such as salaries, allowances, or pension are granted as a benefit to Civil servants and former government employees.

Adnan Mat also urged them to set a good examples by complying to the government’s policy which includes the MCO and must be obeyed in its entirety “without reservation and reason”. “The overall compliance with the MCO directives at least helps to control the movement of the people in the country..”
