The Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2026 is kicking back off again May 30 – July 11, 2026. Thousands of international tourists and locals converge on the Han River each year to see top-notch pyrotechnic teams light up the night sky.

The theme of this year’s competition is `Da Nang – United Horizons. This year the production is expected to be larger than ever due to the theme. Organisers have now increased the event to involve 10 teams from around the world in 6 nights of competition.

The Mega Dome 40-meter-sized stage used to be the highlight of the festival will occupy the centre of the riverfront again and expand the open-air entertainment area in central Da Nang to be one of the largest entertainment areas in Southeast Asia.

Official DIFF 2026 Schedule

The festival will take place over six Saturday nights from the end of May through mid-July. Gates officially open at 5:00 PM and live stage entertainment will start about 7:40 PM followed by fireworks starting at 8:30 PM.

Vietnam plays China on opening night May 30th under the theme of ‘Nature’. On June 6, the Z21 team from Vietnam will take on France in the Heritage Night.

On June 13, Japan and Italy took on the challenge in Culture Night and on June 20 Germany challenged Macau in Creativity Night. Australia and Portugal lead the charge of the Vision Night, on June 27, and the Grand Finale, on July 11.

DIFF 2026 Ticket Guide

Visitors who purchase a grandstand ticket are treated to the highest level of enjoyment as they can thoroughly enjoy the synchronized music, stage choreography, and better bargaining.

Front row VVIP tickets are priced between 2.2 million and 4 million VND (160 and 320 USD) depending on the competition night. These seats will offer unobstructed sightlines towards the Mega Dome stage and launch area for the river.

There are Tier A1 and A2 tickets ranging from 1.5 million to 2.5 million VND. The smallest A3 and A4 seating is available for around 1 million VND and are clearly visible to see the sky show. People can purchase tickets from Sun Paradise Land App, Danang Fantasticity, Klook, or DanaTicket.

Best Free Viewing Spots in Da Nang

Without paying for a ticket, travelers can still enjoy the amazing views in a number of public spaces throughout the city.

Ever since the opening of the river, people flock to Han River Bridge, which is located closest to the launch zone. Sidewalks are to be expected to become crowded before dark, however.

Dragon Bridge has better views of the sky and is far less busy than the other bridge areas. This is a popular location for many photographers when capturing panoramic images.

But if you’re looking for a quieter area to view the show, you can head towards Thuan Phuoc Bridge for a more tranquil setting, further off from all the tourist crowds.

Bach Dang Street Is One of the Best Budget Options

The locals simply assemble on the riverside promenade on Bach Dang for the flotation of fireworks without paying a penny.

The walkway close to the Novotel and Da Nang Administrative Center provides visitors with immersive experiences directly under the pyrotechnic performance.

Police start to intensify the pedestrian control before 5:30 PM, so it is strongly recommended to arrive before that time.

Rooftop Bars and Hotels Offer Premium Views

Rooftop cafes or hotels facing towards the Han River are for those who are looking for comfort without getting into the crowd in the grandstands.

Novotel Danang Premier Han River and Hilton Da Nang etc. often sell special fireworks viewing packages that contain food and drinks.

Reservations are typically full weeks ahead of time, and are particularly popular during opening night and Grand Finale.

Major Road Closures During Festival Nights

During all competition nights all traffic is heavily limited between 5:00 PM and 10:00 PM. All roads are closed for health reasons so that people can walk in and out of the festival area: Streets including Tran Hung Dao Street and Bach Dang Street will be completely closed to motor vehicles.

Taking alternate routes like Ngo Quyen, Tran Thanh Tong, Le Duc Tho or Chu Huy Man should be the way to travel from the north and south of Da Nang.

Smart Transportation Tips for DIFF 2026

The ride-hailing platforms like Grab become unreliable once it gets close to 6pm, as drivers are unable to drive into the restricted areas.

People should not demand riverfront pickups, but rather request that they be picked up near a river viewing area and then walk to the riverfront.

Once the fireworks are finished (which is about 9:30 PM), thousands of people will disappear at the same time. Rather, it is recommended to wait either at a food stall or a cafe in the vicinity for 30-45 minutes and avoid the worst congestion.
