Disney’s Frozen 3 is finally set to come to theaters around the world on Nov. 24, 2027, adding one more major Thanksgiving weekend animated film. Earlier there was an expectation that this film would release sooner, however Disney delayed production due to giving the creative team enough time to work on the script.
The new film is also meant to be the opening to a two movie arc which eventually will culminate in Frozen 4. This will mean the third is not likely to have endless mysteries and conflicts that don’t get resolved in that movie.

The movie will also present Samantha who, according to the material, is a character associated with Olaf and a potential romantic interest. I suppose it was in reference to the moment in Frozen 2 when Olaf improvised a character out of the old joke.
Frozen 3 Story and Plot
The story starts with the much-anticipated royal wedding of Anna and Kristoff, but their celebration is disrupted by a mysterious enchanting crystal that needs to be found near Elsa. The object sets in motion an extraordinary effect of the northern lights and unlocked a mysterious portal.
Then Elsa, Kristoff, Olaf and Anna venture edge to edge into an ancient uncharted icy world. There, they meet with a powerful magical entity who seems to know the girls, and suggests that perhaps their family has a past of some kind in the mysterious new world.
This setting might further extend the Elsa mythology, adding new aspects to her family history and powers.
Music and Visual Direction
The movie brings back the songwriting duo of Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, who won two Academy Awards for Let It Go and Into the Unknown. With their return fresh original songs are anticipated to be a huge part of the sequel.
D23 also offers up a handful of illustrations that look for a more artistically rich approach, modeled on some of older Disney’s masters such as Eyvind Earle and Mary Blair. The sequel is expected to be quite different, with the lighting styling and the winter depths and twinkles showcasing an Aurora theme.
