In a statement posted beside a picture of Sheehan on the band’s official Instagram page, the family and group pleaded for fans to maintain their privacy during this difficult time.

In 2001, Sheehan, lead singer and keyboardist Danny O’Donoghue, and drummer Glen Power founded The Script in Dublin. The song “Hall of Fame” from 2012, the song “Before the Worst” from 2009, and the smash songs “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved” and “Breakeven” from 2008 are all known for the band.

Lead vocalist and keyboardist O’Donoghue told the site, “It’s his story to tell, but certainly, if I might paraphrase, his children needed a father and his wife needed a husband. He went on vacation for a short while. You take a break, then you return with renewed vigor. And I really feel that it was the finest outcome for all of us.”
