US: Carlos Santana collapsed on stage at a concert in the United States on Tuesday night because of dehydration and heat exhaustion.
This happened at the Pine Knob Music Theatre in Clarkston, Michigan, where the 74-year-old Grammy Award winner was performing. The McLaren Clarkston medical center’s emergency department stated he was taken there for observation and was doing fine, according to a statement on his website.
“Blessings and miracles to you all, because I forgot to eat and drink, I became dehydrated and passed out.”
Medical workers and other crew members were seen crowding around Santana on stage in concert footage.
A later date has been set for Santana’s gig in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, according to the guitarist’s manager, Michael Vrionis, who was cited in the announcement.
Santana, whose band Santana came to stardom in the late 1960s with tunes like Black Magic Woman and Oye Como Va, is currently on the “Miraculous Supernatural 2022 Tour.”
