Johor Sultan grants audience to PM on Covid-19 situation

JOHOR BARU – Johor’s Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar was updated by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on the Covid-19 situation in a meeting held at Istana Pasir Pelangi here.

In a statement posted on Sultan Ibrahim’s official Facebook page on Thursday, This is the first official meeting between Sultan Ibrahim and Muhyiddin as the prime minister since he was appointed and sworn in on March 1.

Muhyiddin, who’s the Pagoh MP and Gambir state assemblyman, also served as the mentri besar of Johor from 1986 to 1995.

The meeting lasted for an hour, the prime minister gave an update and briefed Sultan Ibrahim with the latest developments about the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in the country.

Sultan Ibrahim urged the public on Tuesday to remain calm in the ongoing situation and advised to work together to contain the spread of the disease by complying with directives and advisories from the Health Ministry. Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad and state secretary Datuk Azmi Rohani was also present in the meeting.
