Lim Boon Heng Steps Down as Teo Chee Hean Takes Over

Singapore’s wealth fund Temasek Holdings said on Friday that Teo Chee Hean will replace Lim Boon Heng as chairman. With Teo Chee Hean’s appointment, the state investment firm is now prepared to deal with the shifting dynamics of the world market.

The process of handing over from Lim Boon Heng to Teo Chee Hean will be planned slowly over quite a few months. When he starts as deputy chairman on July 1, 2025, Teo Chee Hean will support Lim Boon Heng during the process of handing over. After a third-quarter board meeting on October 9, Teo Chee Hean will be named the new chairman of Temasek, officially bringing an end to Lim Boon Heng’s time as the company’s leader.

Because of this method, there is no break in the sharing of Lim Boon Heng’s knowledge and experience with Teo Chee Hean. The handover schedule enables Teo Chee Hean to get to know Temasek’s functions and still consult Lim Boon Heng’s knowledge about the organization.
