Dr.Pirongrong Ramasut, the NBTC (National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission) Commissioner for Television has been alleged for violating Section 157 of the Criminal Code and issuing a warning letter for advertisement which is inserted into a program broadcast via online platform “TrueID”. At 10 am, the reports stated that the Commissioner has been sentenced to 2 years prison without probation but as per the information given at 11.30 am, the court has ordered a temporary release of Professor Pirongrong along with the bail at 120,000 baht. But conditions have been ordered she is not allowed to travel outside the country without the permission of the court.

“The method we have to enforce this matter, Mus Carry, has only conditions at the end of the license from the NBTC. When TrueID is not authorized, it is like a clear cut. You set it as ott. You violated the terms of the Mus Carry license. You went and broke the law. You can’t do it. You have to consider whether to enter the system or not. When you let the content be broadcasted in a place where it shouldn’t be broadcasted” the Court’s statement.
