Princess Norodom Jenna of Cambodia: The Next BLACKPINK Lisa?

Thanks to her remarkable bilingual skills, captivating singing voice, and elegant sense of style, Princess Norodom Jenna of Cambodia, just 12 years old, has already drawn the interest of millions in China. On Chinese social media, where many have shown respect for her talents and royal background, the young princess has gone viral. Some of her fans even likened her to well-known Southeast Asian K-pop performers like Blackpink’s Lisa and (G)I-DLE’s Minnie, both of whom have become globally well-known in South Korea.

Rising Star with Royal Origins

Born in 2012, Princess Jenna is the French entrepreneur daughter of Princess Norodom Bophary. Being the great-granddaughter of the late King Norodom Sihanouk, she is descended from the revered royal family of Cambodia. Towering personality in Cambodian history, King Sihanouk lived in China for many years and called it his “second home.” This relationship surely has had a part in Princess Jenna’s friendly reception among the Chinese people.

Though young, Jenna’s talents go much beyond her royal position. Her five language fluency—Khmer, Thai, Chinese, English, and French—is amazing for anyone, but especially for someone so young. Her mastery of these languages has helped her to heal cultural gaps and establish relationships with individuals from all around the globe, particularly in China where her Mandarin fluency has won her many friends.

Musical Skills and Online Profile

For years, Jenna clearly loves performance and music. She has been posting cover songs on her YouTube account showing her talent to sing in several languages since she was seven years old. Online she has developed a devoted following from her renditions of popular songs in Khmer, Chinese, English, and other languages. Her YouTube channel currently has about 910,000 members, and her videos have gathered millions of views.

Jenna made a big move in her developing entertainment career in 2022 when she signed with K-pop-oriented agency K’ve Entertainment, which has offices in Cambodia. Her performances—especially her dance renditions of hit songs by the South Korean girl group Aespa, like “Pretty Savage” and “Next Level,” attracted notice right away. She also sang a duet called “You Da One” with Bobo, a male singer from the same agency, further reinforcing her reputation as a future star.

Her curiosity in K-pop culture goes beyond mere entertainment value. Jenna said in an interview with South Korean media source YTN her respect for K-pop, characterizing it as “modern, unique, bright, and dynamic.” She said that seeing idols perform and dance started her passion for K-pop, and that as an artist the genre has grown to be a major source of inspiration.

Clarifying K-pop Traineeship Rumor Stories

Fans fervently debated about her future in the entertainment business as speculations of her possible K-pop idol debut in South Korea spread. There was great buzz on social media when some sources claimed she was thinking about training for a South Korean agency. On October 15, the princess went to her official Weibo account to clear the record, nevertheless.

Jenna said in a public declaration that although she appreciated K-pop and enjoyed music, she had no intention of being a K-pop trainee. She said, “Jenna has not, does not, and will not become a K-pop trainee in South Korea,” adding that although music remained a significant part of her life, her main priorities will be on her studies and choosing professions that would help Cambodia to flourish. Her supporters approved of this choice since many of them valued her dedication to her country and cultural background.

A Musical and Cultural Diplomacy Future Brightly Ahead

Still, Jenna’s love of music is far from quiescent. She said that her next big goal is releasing her first Chinese-language album, which will help to confirm her rising appeal in China. Her performances in the China Central Television show “The Beauty of Shared Arts” already really stand out. Jenna had a stage to display her abilities thanks to this initiative honoring artistic ability from nations engaged in China’s Belt and Road Initiative. Her grace and vocal range enthralled listeners whether she sang in Khmer and Chinese.

Comprising her great-grandfather, King Norodom Sihanouk, her performance’s high point was the song “Missing China.” The work has great emotional value since it reflects the close ties between China and Cambodia, a relationship Jenna still respects via her artistic activities. Chinese viewers gave her great compliments on her look on the show, and her Weibo account—opened in September—quickly gained around 220,000 followers.

An Inheritance of Royal Influence in China

Not the first royal family member from Cambodia to garner public respect among the Chinese people is Princess Jenna. She actually resembles her aunt Princess Norodom Pongsoriya, who became well-known in 2020 after finishing her studies at China’s University of International Business and Economics. Born in 1997, Pongsoriya contributed to deepen the cultural relations between China and Cambodia by reflecting the continuous link of the royal dynasty of that country to China. Jenna’s ascent to popularity carries on this history but with a more contemporary and artistic bent.

Princess Jenna’s future in the entertainment business seems bright even though she decided not to be a K-pop trainee. Her regal background, great worldwide contacts, and musical ability define her on the international scene. Her next moves are much awaited by fans all throughout Asia, especially in China; many of them are enthusiastic about her forthcoming Chinese-language CD.

“You have a beautiful voice,” one Weibo supporter said. Anticipating your Chinese CD, another cited Confucius, adding, “How happy we are, to meet friends from afar.” These feelings capture the affection and respect Princess Jenna has inspired—not only as a royal but also as a young artist with a great future ahead.

Her narrative reminds us of the ongoing cultural linkages between China and Cambodia as well as how one young princess is using her skills to keep strengthening those ties in fresh and interesting ways. Princess Norodom Jenna is clearly a rising star, watched keenly by the globe whether through her singing, language ability, or royal responsibilities.
