Saifuddin apologizes over Finas licensing issue

PETALING JAYA – Minister of Communications and Multimedia, Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah issued an apology through his official Facebook account over his statement regarding the Malaysian National Film Development Corporation (Finas) licensing issue.

According to Saifuddin, He said that as a minister he should apologise because when asked about the issue in the parliament, he replied in a very straightforward manner.

Minister of Communications and Multimedia added that the issue are being discussed in the cabinet in which they decided that public can freely use platform such as Youtube and TikTok.

Saifuddin issued the apology while officiating the Southern Zone Youtube and Community Cinema Skills Worskshop today.

He was welcomed with thunderous cheers by more 200 people at the event. Mat Dan and Tuah Adzmi was also selected as panelists in the two-day programme. Saifuddin, recently catch some attention from the netizens where he claimed it was mandatory for producers to apply for a Film Production Licence and Filming Authentication Certificate (SPP) if they choose to distribute their videos.
