Turkish singer Volkan Konak passed away tragically during a performance in Cyprus.

Turkish music lovers and the whole entertainment world on Sunday night were put in shock by the unexpected passing of the renowned singer Volkan Konak. This unfortunate occurrence transpired during a live concert in Cyprus, where the dearly-loved artist collapsed on stage. Although those present tried their best to help him, Konak was later pronounced dead, and the country went into mourning.

Heartbreaking video footage has surfaced showing Konak performing with his band at the event before suddenly collapsing. Fellow performers and event personnel rushed to his side as soon as he fell, and emergency services were called to the scene. Medical teams administered first aid, and at 12:10 am, he was transported to Famagusta State Hospital. However, efforts to revive him failed, and he was pronounced dead at 12:42 am.

An official account was issued by the hospital. It stated, “This incident was reported to the emergency team on March 30, 2025, at approximately 11:23 pm. The emergency health team, 112, arrived promptly at the hotel where the artist was performing. CPR was conducted at the concert site for about 40 minutes before intubation, and he was then moved to our hospital at 12:10 am.”

It continued, “On arrival at 12:17 am, the team, including an anesthetist, emergency medicine physicians, and cardiology specialists, continued advanced life support for 25 minutes. Unfortunately, with all medical interventions, there was no response. Volkan Konak passed away at 12:42 am, with CPR officially ceased.”

Following the dissemination of the tragic news, tributes from all over Turkey have continued to cascade. The Mayor of Ankara, Mansur Yavas, wrote an emotional tribute to Konak, recollecting his achievements: “The Son of the North, Volkan Konak, has passed away. His powerful voice that resonated in our hearts and his songs that carried the rebellious spirit of the Black Sea will forever live in our memories. He was not just an artist; he was the voice, the heart, and the friend of these lands.” Yavas continued: “May God rest his soul, and my deepest condolences to his loved ones. We will never forget you.”

The spanish singer was a sudden loss, and this will surely be felt all over Turkey’s music scene; the sound of his raging voice and the timeless songs that followed will surely remain in the hearts of those who cherish him.
