Vietnam Becomes World’s 3rd Largest Cassava Exporter, Shipping $1.3 Billion in Crops

Vietnam solidified its status as the world’s third-largest cassava exporter in 2026, shipping crops worth approximately $1.3 billion—behind only Thailand and Nigeria, as highlighted during Vietnam Logistics Day. The Vietnam Cassava Association also reported high growth with 3.34 million tons of export in the first 10 months alone, which increased 59.8 percent in amount compared to 2024. The 94 percent of shipments (3.16 million tons, $962 million) were absorbed by China, Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea. Home production reached 10.43 million tons on 511,500 hectares, which supported 1.2 million agricultural families in midland and mountainous areas. Exports have a threat of China dependency, but a target of 2 billion dollars by 2030 through deep processing and sustainability.
