Kang Seo Ha, a South Korean actress passed away yesterday aged 31 and the South Korean entertainment industry is mourning. The news was confirmed by her family on Sunday July, 14, 2025. The actress born in Busan passed on after struggling with cancer.
Kang Seo Ha remained in the work in spite of her illness. She was not ready to stop working on the film production and was even in motion to fulfill her new film project even when she was getting worse in health. Such a commitment shows her strong commitment to her work.
She will be buried on Tuesday, July 16, 2025 and the time is 07:40 AM KST. The funeral will be performed at room 8 of the funeral hall in St. Mary hospital in Seoul. Then her body will be buried at her family grave at Haman, Gyeongsang Province.
A Career Marked by Determination
Kang Seo Ha – born on June 13, 1994, was born Kang Ye-won in Busan in a family of parents and a younger sister and it is the family that surrounded her that gave Kang Seo Ha the dream of becoming an actress. She followed her interest by studying drama in Korea National University of Arts. It is based on her academic career that she could have a decent acting career.
Her debut was a music video in a song called Getting Farther Away by Brave Guys in the year 2012. The subsequent opportunities led to other film and television work as a result of this early exposure.
She received roles in other popular dramas in the subsequent years such as Schoolgirl Detectives and Assembly in 2015. Her performances in First Love Again and The Flower in Prison in 2016 reflected her versatility and popularity as well.
The actress strengthened her reputation with such works as Through the Waves (2018) and Heart Surgeons in which she performed the role of Lee Ye-Rin. She played a teacher of chemistry in 2019 in the SBS drama Seventeen-Year-Old Condition.

Kang was in the middle of treatment when she became a part of the new series, Mangnaein (In The Net) in which she now plays as her last appearance. The drama involves some popular Korean actors such as Kim Seon Ho, Park Gyu Young, Lee Hong Nae, and Lee Se E.

Kang Seo Ha refused to take such aggressive treatment like chemotherapy despite her disease. Kang Seo Ha signed with Insight MCN, a joint venture between Insight Entertainment and Showtime Crew in 2023. This collaboration enabled her to dive into digital content production and still act. Her agency congratulated her professionalism and commitment to what she does as she did it till the end.
