Blackpink’s Lisa Ignites Tourism Boom at Thailand’s Red Lotus Sea

Blackpink’s Lisa, as Amazing Thailand Ambassador, has sparked a massive tourism surge at Udon Thani’s Red Lotus Sea through stunning promotional images released by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) on January 19, 2026. Feel All the Feelings campaign uses Lisa surrounded by blooming lotus on Nong Han Lake which attracts the attention of her 100+ million followers on Instagram. The initial statistics indicate 11,766 visitors during the New Year alone, almost 40 percent foreign, compared with 110,154 visitors during the same time a year ago, and buzz is enhanced by memes and viral trends as of January-February, when peak bloom occurs, and January 28, when the full film opens. This makes the peaceful wetland the next Instagram phenomenon in Thailand.

Red Lotus Sea Bloom Phenomenon

The Red Lotus Sea transforms into a 22,500-rai pink carpet during cold season, best viewed from 6-10 AM when flowers bloom and birds gather. TAT is expected to be fully in blossom in January, which coincides with the ethereal images of boats that Lisa is having. Eco-measures protect the wetland ahead of Udon Thani’s World Horticultural Expo 2026.

Lisa’s Tourism Ambassador Impact

The goal of Lisa is the approval of about THB 3 trillion in revenue in 2026 by attracting Gen Z customers in China, Korea, and Europe. Her TAT posters have generated 4 million views in a few days driving boat rides at Ban Diem pier and hotel deals. There is increased interest in the world through social media posts such as memes though with a slight backlash.
