Digital Realty Malaysia Entry Sparks a New Wave of Southeast Asia Data Center Growth

Digital Realty, a global leader in data infrastructure, has officially entered Malaysia, which supports the growing significance of the country in the Malaysian digital economy. The relocation makes Digital Realty Malaysia an expansion hub, which would accommodate hyperscalers, enterprises, and cloud platforms in search of resilience and interconnected infrastructure. The purchase of the TelcoHub 1 facility in Cyberjaya will also enhance the connectivity of the region as well as expand the PlatformDIGITAL® presence of Digital Realty Malaysia to locations other than Singapore and Jakarta. This growth brings out the increasing chances of Malaysia as a sovereign-ready, scalable destination of next-generation digital workloads and AI-driven development.

Strengthening Southeast Asia’s Digital Backbone

Recently acquired TelcoHub 1 is one of the most densely populated service facilities in Malaysia, which accommodates more than 40 service providers and thousands of fiber cores. As the neighboring land allows future growth, Digital Realty Malaysia will provide the long-term capacity of cloud and AI demand. Digital Realty Malaysia will be integrated with PlatformDIGITAL 2021 and ServiceFabric to provide a smoother interconnection between the company and local businesses to scale. This action highlights the long-term investment approach of Digital Realty and advances the development of Malaysia as a large data center hub of Southeast Asia.
