Four people murdered during homicidal rampage in Thailand’s Bang Khen

Four people were reportedly shot dead during a homicidal rampage in Bang Khen, a district of Bangkok, Thailand on Monday night.

A man riding a motorcycle killed four people out of jealousy. After killing them, the motorcycle taxi driver killed himself. The tragic incident took place in Soi Chaeng Wattana 6. According to Pol Capt Chairat Thamseeha, a Thung Song Hong duty officer, the killer was identified as 54 years old Somchai Kaewkomol.

According to sources, reports and witnesses, the man arrived on a motorcycle at Nicknack market in Soi Chaeng Wattana 6 around 7:30 pm. He shot his wife’s mother Sopha Jansoda, 59, in the head. Subsequently, he went to Ban Suan Ratchathani condominium. He went on the ninth floor of Building 5 and killed Sopha Jansoda’s elder sister, Thawee Sinma, 60, and two kids – Thanakrit Kaewkret, 7, and Kritpas Kaewkret, 9.

After killing them, he shot himself in the head in front of the condominium. All his victims were already dead.

After investigation, police revealed that the two slain kids were the sons of his wife, Viraya Sinma, 39, with her former husband.

According to reports, Somchai Kaewkomol and Viraya Sinma had lived together as a couple for two years. However, they used to fight a lot. Viriya broke up with him because of fights. Later on, she went to live with another man. Somchai Kaewkomol did not like this. He was jealous of another man. Reportedly, he wanted to take revenge.

According to police, family problems were believed to be the reason behind the murder.

Shooting incidents have become rampant in Thailand. The country also has high rates of gun ownership.

In April, four people were killed in a shooting in southern Thailand. The brutal incident took place in Khiri Rat Nikhom district in Surat Thani province.
