BLACKPINK Jisoo Wins Big at Seoul Drama Awards 2025 for Newtopia Performance

The popular member of the BLACKPINK group, Jisoo, has recently hit the headlines, but it is not due to her musical venture. The gifted K-pop star took the biggest acting prize of the year, the Seoul Drama Awards 2025, and she is now showing everyone that she can do just as well on the camera as on the stage. This amazing work of Jisoo as an actress in the zombie drama Newtopia earned her the Outstanding Asian Star award, and the BLACKPINK fans around the world are feeling extremely proud and thrilled.

The victory is extra special as it demonstrates that Jisoo is turning into a professional actress and not just a pop star. The Seoul Drama Awards 2025 nomination at an opportune moment is as most South Korean entertainers in the K-pop industry venture into acting, but very few are successful as Jisoo.

Jisoo’s Outstanding Achievement at Seoul Drama Awards 2025

The Seoul Drama Awards is an award ceremony that is held annually in Asia and is regarded as one of the most valuable award ceremonies of television dramas in the region. It awards the best actors, actresses, and shows in various countries every year. Jisoo of BLACKPINK was able to win the Outstanding Asian Star award by getting 38.28 per cent of votes by beating all the other talented nominees this year.

This Seoul Drama Awards 2025 recognition was awarded to Jisoo, who acted as Kang Yeong Ju in the zombie apocalypse series Newtopia on Coupang Play. It is against this background that many of them were concerned about how she was going to deliver such a challenging role, considering the fact that zombie drama entails much hard-core acting. But Jisoo managed to show all the skeptics who were wrong with her commanding performance.

It is not the first win that Jisoo makes at the Seoul Dramas Awards. In 2022, she took home the award of Hallyu Drama Award in the category of Outstanding Korean Actress due to much adulation on her debut acting performance in Snowdrop. However, this new Seoul Drama Awards 2025 award is much greater since it symbolizes her maturation as an actress and her skill to perform such tricky roles.

The race to win the Seoul Drama Awards 2025 was very tight, and people across Asia voted with their favorite performers. BLACKPINK fans, also called BLINK, tried their best to vote in favor of Jisoo each day. Their efforts paid up as she scored a majority of the votes in her category.
