Films enthusiasts nationwide will be able to enjoy cinema at a fraction of the price on the first National Cinema Day with a theme, ‘Act 2026’ on September 12, 2026, on Saturday. All participating cinemas will participate in regular movie ticket sales for just ₱100 for one day of 2D movie-going.
The nationwide event is organized by industry and government partners, the Cinema Exhibitors Association of the Philippines (CEAP), and includes cinemas from Luzon to Mindanao as well as locally made films and international films scheduled for September 12.
Which Cinemas Are Participating?
The movieworlds that are joining in with the celebration are major movieworlds such as SM Cinema, Ayala Malls Cinemas, Robinsons Movieworld, Megaworld Cinemas, Vista Cinemas, CityMall Cinema, as well as Cinema 2000 and FACI Partner Cinemas.
Selected venues include other independent movie theaters and mall venues in Metro Manila, Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. The movie is likely to be playing differently at various branches and at different timings, so check the release details before booking tickets.
How Much Are National Cinema Day Tickets?
The regular 2D screenings will cost charging forward with the headline price of P100 on September 12. The promotion includes movies playing at the selected month regular movie theatres local and international films.
This doesn’t apply to the nationwide ₱100, its premium formats. The regular ₱100 promotion will not apply to specialty formats produced by IMAX, 4DX, ScreenX, Directors Club and others, however, the cinema chains may offer their own promotions for individual specialty formats.
When and Where Can You Buy Tickets?
Advance tickets began selling on September 10th starting at 10 a.m. on participating cinemas official websites, mobile applications, authorised websites/box offices for ticketing. Tickets are limited and released on a first come first served basis, and will also be subject to the seating capacity of each theater.
It can be helpful for crowdsourcing popular movies if there are times available for a past show that can be checked online and then the viewer travels to the hall in order to attend the film. Once they have chosen an eligible regular screening and September 12, they should check the promotional price, and then pay for the screening when it is due.
