KUALA LUMPUR – Considering the danger of the contagious Covid19 around the nation, PKR treasurer-general Lee Chean Chung demands PM Muhyiddin to appoint Cabinet positions for the health minister and deputy prime minister.

In a statement released today, the Semambu assemblyman emphasized that Malaysia has experienced a spike of cases—from 53 to 81 in a single day.

According to Lee, “Although we have professional government officers who are highly experienced in civil service, we still require political leadership to assure the public that there is accountability and responsibility for them.”

He also said that the alarming cases of the virus is a reminder to expedite the appointment of Health Minister and Deputy Prime Minister by PM Muhyiddin. The ministers are to head National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma), which can no longer be delayed.

“The agency has played a crucial role in utilizing government resources to contain and stop the spread of Covid-19,” he added.

He continued that PM Muhyiddin has reportedly failed to provide political leadership required over the past five days since he took the the Prime Minister’s position to address the Covid-19 outbreak in the country since he permits the health ministry remain unoccupied as at yet.
