Even though Singapore Airline adheres to the order, they said that the suspension would not affect the passenger services from Hong Kong to Singapore which runs until April 16.

The airline said in a statement that before a transit passenger departed on the SQ882 flight, the test result is negative, however upon arrival on Hong Kong, the passenger tested positive. Singapore Airline assured that they have taken the immediate necessary steps like toughening security checks to make sure that the customers comply with the regulatory requirements of Hong Kong.

The airlines also added that they are going to give a hand to the health authorities in their contact-tracing efforts to help quell the further spread of infection.

The aviation regulator of Singapore said that the other three passengers that did not comply with Hong Kong’s disease precautions were also transit passengers who got tested in the pre-departure clinics of the places where they are originally from.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) said that all of the three transit passenger’s Covid test result is negative.

CAAS added that Hong Kong has given suspension warning to airlines under the strict test requirements for Covid-19 for the arriving air passengers in which Singapore Airlines has failed to comply. Singapore has a strict entry rules in their domestic transmission of passengers to keep the virus in check and as we know Singapore has few relative covid cases in the recent months.
