Special Rescue Flight to Bring Back Pinoys from China

A Philippine Airlines special rescue flight bound for Xiamen is scheduled to leave Manila on Monday to bring back Filipinos stranded in China amid the novel coronavirus (nCoV) scare.

The said flight is scheduled to leave Terminal 2 of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) past 7 a.m. The said flight is scheduled to leave Terminal 2 of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) past 7 a.m.

The return flight from Xiamen back to Manila is expected to land between 1:50-2 p.m. at NAIA Terminal 2. Monday.

Passengers returning on the rescue flight must undergo health screening upon arrival to test whether they have any signs of potential nCoV.

Once they have been cleared they will be instructed to observe quarantine at home.

PAL previously said Monday, the special flights to and from Xiamen will be operated by volunteer pilots and cabin crew.

This added that a 199-seater Airbus A321 was expected to be used for rescue flight.

Meanwhile, several passengers were seen wearing face masks at the NAIA Terminal 2 departure area on Monday morning, as awareness of the risk of contracting infection is high.
