From the Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo, be prepared for an enjoyable sci-fi adventure with the entry of The Electric State on Netflix on March 14. This dystopian tale gives life to a wild ride with Stranger Things’ Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt of Jurassic World fame.
Based on Simon Stålenhag’s 2018 graphic novel, the film centres on Michelle, an orphaned teenager played by Brown, as she navigates a desolate post-apocalyptic world. Along with her obnoxious partner- a smuggler named Keats, played by Pratt- and an unusual robot, she searches for her long-lost brother. After a devastating war between human beings and machines, the movie turns on an axis of action with emotion yet profoundly engaging.
An interview with Entertainment Weekly sees Russo express hope that the film retains some thematic heft, calling it in their trademark style “action-adventure-comedy” type. While it was an action-packed movie with humor, it tackled heavier and emotionally charged subjects, putting it beyond just a hit.

And the list of stars doesn’t end with Brown and Pratt. The film includes Stanley Tucci, Ke Huy Quan, and Giancarlo Esposito, while Alan Tudyk, Woody Harrelson, Anthony Mackie, Brian Cox, Jenny Slate, and Colman Domingo voice robots in the film.
There are interesting facts regarding The Electric State’s robot design. The principal robot was unearthed from the Walt Disney archives, said Mr. Russo, and it does have a slight feel of Disney charm blended with new-age storytelling. Although these machines may show feelings and have full consciousness, they remain cute and charming to look at As Joe put it, “You’ll see this mixture of cartoonish and very much human-like characters of robots.”
With a strong storyline, star cast, and new twists to this sci-fi adventure, The Electric State seems destined to become one of the most entertaining films of the year.
This manner very much liberated for any mechanistic structures; attractive in thrilling, alluring, and fun-just tell me otherwise!
