The Prime Minister congratulates Malaysia’s SEA Games medalists

Malaysia – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has given his applause and his congratulations to the national diving team, which as of Monday had won four gold medals, one silver medal, and one bronze medal in the diving competition at the 31st Southeast Asian Games in Hanoi, Vietnam.

He wrote on his official Facebook page that this achievement is actually a great beginning for all the national athletes who are competing in the Southeast Asian Games in Hanoi, Vietnam this year.

“Congratulations to Nur Dhabitah Sabri, the first Malaysian diver to win a gold medal, followed by Ooi Tze Liang, Chew Yi Wei, Ng Yan Yee and Ong Ker Ying in the diving competition. Kimberly Bong has also taken the silver medal home, while Bertrand Rhodict took home the bronze medal.”

The Prime Minister also added that this victory is the result of the athlete’s tireless efforts and unyielding battling spirit in order to bring Malaysia on the global scene.

All of the competitors who have taken part in the sports event received warm wishes from Prime Minister Ismail Sabri, as well.

“I am convinced that we will be able to attain our goal of taking home 36 gold medals if we continue on this track,” he said.

Nur Dhabitah won Malaysia’s first gold medal at the 31st Southeast Asian Games in the women’s 1m individual springboard event, with Kimberly bringing home the silver.

Yi Wei-Tze Liang earned his second gold medal after taking first place in the men’s 3m springboard synchronized event at the Asian Games.

Meanwhile, Tze Liang won Malaysia’s third gold medal of the competition on Monday, winning the men’s 1m springboard final. Followed by Bertrand who earned a bronze medal, and then Yan Yee-Ker Ying who won gold in the women’s synchronized 3m springboard event.
