Born Marissa Eduardo, Small has been married to business mogul Philip Laude, a famous confectionery manufacturer in the nation, for more than two decades. They met through a mutual friend, fell in love, were married, and now have four kids: Christopher, Michael, Timothy, and Allison.

Small, however, is familiar with the heiress lifestyle because her family owns a variety of businesses, including rice milling, trading, and garment export. Her older sisters Melba and Alice, whose Ate Alice is the founder and CEO of Sta. Elena Construction and Development Corporation, are both successful businesswomen.
