86% of Filipinos experienced stress from Covid-19 pandemic

METRO MANILA – Nearly nine in 10 Filipinos have admitted that they have been stressed over the current Covid-19 pandemic situation, the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey revealed.

The Social Weather Stations (SWS) conducted the survey from Sept. 17 to 20 and was based on mobile phone and computer-assisted telephone interviews of 1,249 participants aged 18 and above.

SWS noted that the 86% of Filipino adult where consist of 58% of the responded saying they had “great stress” and 27% with “much stress”, a result 1% highest than the previous resulted they got last July.

Only 15% of the responded felt felt a little stress or no stress at all.

The survey from July said that 51% of responded had “great stress” a 7% increase from the current survey.

64% of those who experienced great stress are in the Visayas at 64%, followed by Luzon at 58%, Mindanao at 55% and Metro Manila at 56%.

Those who were dealing with great stress was similar among men and women with 58% and 57% respectively. The stress was highest among people with aged 25-34 at 62%, followed by the 45-54 age group with  61%, 18-24 at 60%, 35-44 at 57% and 49% among people aged 55yrs old and above.

The SWS survey used  sampling error margins ±2% for national percentages, ±6% for Metro Manila, ±5 for Luzon,  Visayas and Mindanao respectively. As of the moment, Covid-19 has infected 335,00 with 275,000 recoveries and 6,152 death
