The situation in the higher education of Indonesia remains quite strong in terms of the UNIRANKS 2025 global rankings, as 970 confirmed universities were listed as excelling in academics, innovations, and globalization. Among them 74 are considered to be ranked as Top by Country, 59 are ranked as Top by Region and two institutions received the coveted Elite University status. The University of Indonesia (UI) is on the top of the list, being ranked in the world at positions 436 and a score of 85.21, which made it once again the academic leader of the country.
