Customers with holiday plans by the end of the year or beginning of 2026 are already seeing a visible increase in prices in resorts, boutique hotels, and upscale resorts. According to industry analysts, the increase in the number of arrivals by tourists in Europe, India, and China coupled with the scarcity in the availability of last-minute deals is the primary cause of this upward trend. Although Phuket has continued to be one of the most popular beach destinations across the world, holiday makers are now urged to make hotel reservations early enough to get good rates.
Rising Demand Pushes Rates Higher
The hospitality market in Phuket is on one of the best recoveries since the breakout of tourism in 2020. Hoteliers say there is a surge in occupancy rates of 80-95% in December 2025 to February 2026, generating premium prices in Patong, Kata, Karon and Kamala. The luxury resorts, especially, have been charging 20-35% more due to the inflow of foreign tourists and the vacation time around the festive season.
Price increase is also being witnessed in budget stays and the mid-range hotels 10-25%. Travel agencies affirm that early reservations for Christmas, New Year and Chinese New Year holidays are almost exhausted. Phuket Airport anticipates the traffic of passengers to be more than in 2019, which more pressures accommodation prices.
Industry Response and Traveler Impact
Local tourism boards stress that the increase of prices is an indicator of good recovery, and it helps in boosting the Phuket economy. Hotels are selling packaged experiences spa packages, beach tours and meal deals to warrant increased tariffs.
In the case of travelers, though, high-speed growth is a budgeting issue. Backpackers are also moving inside the hostels whereas families choose packages to eliminate spikes at the last minute. Professionals suggest that one should reserve accommodation at least 60-90 days before large holidays.
It is projected that many properties would keep increasing prices through to the early years of 2026 because Phuket has been transformed into a year-round destination through enhanced connectivity, luxury hospitality investment, and increased digital-nomad dispersion.
