South Korea’s local government in the Yeoudio region confirmed the existence of a case of positive patient COVID-19 (Corona Virus) on Thursday (02/27/2020) afternoon.

This made the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) and the Indonesia Investment Promotion Center (IIPC) Office in Seoul temporarily close offline services.

The spread of the virus is very close to the Indonesian Embassy and IIPC complex in the Yeouido region.

The Indonesian Ambassador to South Korea, Umar Hadi, said the closure of the service was only temporary until the time to be informed again.

Quoting Hadi’s written statement (28/2), KBRI staff and IIPC Seoul will work in their respective residences.

Temporary closure of this service also includes the arrangement of visas, passports and consular services.

Hadi said, the steps taken were in accordance with local government policy in reducing the intensity of the gathering of people in the same time and place.

“The closure of this service is only temporary to ensure conducive service conditions in connection with the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus that has infected victims with a radius near the Indonesian Embassy service office,” said Hadi.

For emergency cases, the Indonesian Embassy still provides emergency telephone numbers on + 82-10-5394-2546.

There are two phone numbers for the Indonesian Citizens Protection Command Post in South Korea, namely the Indonesian Embassy in Seoul + 82-10-5450-2181 and the Aju Command Post + 82-10-3601-9980.

In order to ensure that all Indonesian citizens are safe, Hadi said that the Indonesian Ambassador together with the COVID-19 Danger Task Force core team had and continued to take extra security measures including sterilization of the Indonesian Embassy in Seoul and the Seoul IIPC office.
