Covid-19: Three cases confirmed at Subang Jaya Medical Centre

PETALING JAYA – Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC) confirmed three cases of Covid-19 virus today prompting the hospital to temporarily closed its emergency room facilities to perform an extensive terminal cleaning and disinfection.

Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care (RSDH) has reported three cases of Covid-19 with the 2 cases being treated at the SJMC’s ER department while the third case was a hospital staff member who contacted the virus with the second patient.

RSDH has implemented extensive safety protocols for its hospitals. The ER was reopened at 6pm yesterday.

The first case was a male patient who recently travelled to Italy and Singapore.  He came to SJMC on Feb 26. While the second case was also a male patient with no travel history overseas.

Both patients wore face masks when they were sent to the ER for further evaluation.

All of the  staff that had any contact with the two patients were tested for Covid-19 and will be placed under home quarantine.
