Malay Rulers set to meet tomorrow

PETALING JAYA – The Malay Rulers has agreed to meet with Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah tomorrow amid political crisis.

They are expected to meet the King before Friday’s prayers. A representative from the Istana Negara has yet to confirm the meeting.

The Agong has already met with interim Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, leaders of political parties and lawmakers to ascertain who holds majority support in the Dewan Rakyat earlier this week.

Harapan Pakatan Federal Governmenrt collapsed on Monday following the resignation of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and withdrawal of PPBM. PKR, DAP and Amanah on the other hand nominated Anwar Ibrahim as prime minister and reaffirms commitment to Pakatan.
