Muntinlupa City is now under a 24-hour curfew amid enhanced quarantine in the neighborhood

Starting Friday in the midst of the Luzon-wide extended community quarantine due to the COVID-19 threat, a 24-hour curfew was imposed on Muntinlupa City.

Residents would not be permitted outside their homes under Ordinance 2020-074 except with some exemptions.

Those found violating the curfew for the first offense will have the violation recorded in a blotter and their benefits such as scholarship (MSP), zero-interest loan (Dagdag Puhunan) and the like canceled.

Subsequent offenses may result in the individual being disallowed during the quarantine period from receiving relief products and other assistance. The incident will be registered with the barangay in a blotter, too.

The said curfew ordinance passed by the Sangguniang Panlungsod is in accord with President Rodrigo Duterte’s order to place Luzon under enhanced community quarantine from March 17 to April 12, the local government said.

The LGU also said the corresponding curfew at 8 p.m. Around five a.m. Is not successful because people are still wandering around.
