PM Ismail Sabri introduces the 12th Malaysia Plan in Parliament

The primary emphasis of today’s Parliament session will be the presentation of the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, which will set out his government’s five-year plan to achieving a prosperous, inclusive, and sustainable nation.

Following the oral question-and-answer session that begins at 10 a.m., Ismail Sabri is planned to table the motion for the country’s five-year development strategy (2021-2025) on the Dewan Rakyat’s Order Paper, which is set to take place at 11.30 a.m.

It is stated in the Dewan Rakyat sitting calendar, which is available on the official website of Malaysia’s Parliament, that the discussion on the 12MP is planned to last for four days, starting on Tuesday (Sept 28).

In accordance with the theme of the Malaysian Family, the 12th Malaysian Parliament is anticipated to prioritize the welfare of the people, social protection, and people-centered initiatives. According to Ismail Sabri, the 12MP seeks to provide a fair and equal distribution of income among the states and the people, while also protecting the environment and promoting long-term economic growth.

Today’s meeting will also include a discussion on the International Trade and Industry Ministry’s strategy plans to continue to make Malaysia an investor-friendly country post-Covid-19 and to attract investments from large international corporations, among other topics.

Wan Hassan Mohd Ramli (PAS-Dungun) will ask the question regarding the matter during the oral question-and-answer session.

Datuk Mohd Anuar Mohd Tahir (PH-Temerloh) will ask the Senior Minister of Works for an update on immunization requirements for local and international construction workers.

Additionally, Datuk Dr Hasan Bahrom (PH-Tampin) will question the Senior Minister of Defence on welfare plans, particularly in terms of affordable housing for retired military personnel with or without pension. The current Dewan Rakyat will serve for a period of seventeen days, till October 12.
