Johor Health Department denies Coronavirus case in Desa Tebrau

JOHOR BARU – The Johor Health Department has denied a viral Facebook claims that that novel 2019-nCoV outbreak has reached Desa Tebrau.

“The Johor Health Department would like to state that the statement is untrue. We advise the public not to spread any fake news that will cause panic.” said in a post on their official Facebook page today

The viral facebook post included a video showing several people in a white protection suits escorting a third man allegedly infected with the 2019-nCoV virus.

The Johor Health Department also gave a warning to those who is found spreading fake news and will liable under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for improper use of network facilities.

Up to RM50,000, 1 year jail time, or both if conviction. An additional fine of RM1,000 can also be imposed for each day the fake news is spread. A police report has already been filed about the allegation.
