The Secretarial Council of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition has recently announced that there are new several committees that have been established which involve lawmakers that came from its component parties which aims to review public policies and prepare relevant ones that are presented by the party.
The PH Secretarial Council has said in a statement that the establishment of the nine committees were in conjunction with the coalition’s third anniversary for winning the national polls and that the ‘Port Dickson Resolution’ which the major leaders have adopted in the previous month is where it has been built from.
He stated that they have will be including experts as well as other parties that is fit to handle the responsibilities of the respective committees to be a part of its membership expansion. “These committees will act in scrutinizing and preparing PH’s policies. At the same time, new committees will be announced from time to time,” it said in a statement.
The statement was signed by PH secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, Parti Amanah Negara secretary-general Datuk Dr Mohd Hatta Md Ramli, and DAP national organizing secretary Anthony Loke Siew Fook. The nine committees were education, health, economy, security, gender, youth, living cost, law and mobilization.
It has also been mentioned in the statement that the education and health committees – the two committees out of nine, have had its chairman elected namely Simpang Renggam MP Maszlee Malik and Kuala Selangor MP Datuk Seri Dzulkefly Ahmad respectively. Setiawangsa MP Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, Kulai MP Teo Nie Ching and Tampin MP Datuk Hasan Baharom were also part of the education committee.
While the health committee members are Gopeng MP Dr Lee Boon Chye, Bandar Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii, Lumut MP Datuk Wira Dr Hatta Ramli, Bayan Baru MP Sim Tze Tzin and Bangi MP Ong Kian Ming. The statement also said that the announcement for the chairman of the other committees will be held following the first meeting of the said committee.
