PM Mahathir: UMT head Prof Nor Aieni Mokhtar to serve until Apr 12

Nor Aieni was told to go on leave on Dec 30, but news from the university says that acting Education Minister Mahathir had reversed the previous decision and allows uni chief to complete her term.

It was reported that Mahathir let Nor Aieni to finish her contract and resume her duties for Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT).

The discussion on the proposed merger with Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin, that has some online petitions from UMT alumnus, is still on going as confirmed with Nor Aieni. “We need more consultation sessions to weigh the costs and benefits. These will take time,” she told reporters at UMT.
