Ginie Lim of the PKR disputes that she was withdrawn from state polls due to her ties to Azmin

Malaysia – Ginie Lim Siew Lin, the incumbent PKR assemblywoman in Machap Jaya, has slammed Perikatan Nasional (PN) election director Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali for claiming that she was barred from running in the Melaka state election because she backed him.

According to her, in reference to Azmin’s statement, it is apparent that PN has spent all of its political capital and must be dismissed for seeking to shift attention away from voter concerns.

She said that a reformist activist’s devotion is based on the party’s battle values, not on the individual.

Lim wrote on her official Facebook page that she strongly oppose the ‘Sheraton Move,’ since it conspired with corrupt political forces and abuse of power, which the people rejected in the general election.

During a recent visit to Machap Jaya, she was cited in various news outlets as stating that he was devastated by PKR’s decision to dismiss Lim owing to her links with him.

Although Azmin was a former deputy president of the PKR, Lim believes it is unfortunate that someone who purportedly advocated for multi-racial politics and against corruption for more than 20 years had to fall to racist and corrupt parties.

She emphasized that Azmin should recognize that his party, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, is no longer relevant to the nation’s future.

“Rather than continuing to be an instrument of corruption, he should have returned to the right path,” she remarked.

Despite the fact that she did not run in the Melaka state election this time, Lim stated she will continue to support Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) platform and give her energy and ideas to Malaysian politics under the leadership of PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

She has urged all Melaka voters to take a bold stance in support of the state’s growth and unity.

“On November 20, please vote to reestablish a strong and compassionate government administration,” Lim added.

Some PKR members have already voiced displeasure with the party’s leadership’s decision to dismiss Lim, who has been active in the Machap Jaya state constituency since 2008. Lim has earlier stated that she accepted the decision of the party’s leadership
