On Saturday, Youth and Sports Minister Dito Ariotedjo said, “We gladly announce that the preparations for the Basketball World Cup in Jakarta go as planned, so do not worry. The government has allocated a budget to support the holding of the FIBA World Cup.”
He also attended the world cup preparation meeting with Andreas Zagklis, the current secretary general of the International Basketball Federation, and the Indonesian Basketball Association (Persatuan Bola Basket Seluruh Indonesia), the main basketball regulatory organization in Indonesia. The meeting was held online in Jakarta, Indonesia’s massive capital, on Friday.
During the meeting, the Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs reportedly said, “Jakarta is ready to host the Basketball World Cup for the basketball lovers. We are committed to making the event successful.”
Andreas Zagklis extended his gratitude to Indonesia for hosting the prestigious event.
