Mayors Stand: Vaccine Should not be a Replacement for Health Protocols

3 min read

The Mayors of Metro Manila intensely highlighted without hesitation that people could continue to comply with the minimum health guidelines even after obtaining the COVID-19 vaccines. Along with this, Navotas Mayor Toby Tiangco and Caloocan Mayor Oscar Malapitan all accepted that the vaccines act as extra protection against the virus, speaking as guests at the Malacañang press conference.

In view of this, Malapitan said it could not act as a free pass to flout quarantine protocols if vaccinated. Malapitan said the city government is seeking 1.1 million people to be vaccinated. In fact, In a week with 1,600 vaccinators, in two weeks with 800 vaccinators and in four weeks with 400 vaccinators, City Hall would be able to hit its goal.

There were actually 165 vaccinators who underwent instruction were recruited by Caloocan. In order to reach the goal, each person should vaccinate 100 individuals a day for seven days. In order to meet the goal of vaccinating 103,000 citizens in 50 days, the government of Navotas plans to inoculate 100 residents every day at each of the 20 vaccination locations. He also encouraged the Health Department to issue a standardized vaccine passport for COVID-19. He said it would create uncertainty if every Local Government Unit (LGU) had its own passport format for the vaccine.

Meanwhile, There were 42 biomedical refrigerators and laboratory freezers were procured by the Makati government to ensure the proper preservation of COVID-19 vaccines. The city council is planning the inoculation centers, vaccination depots and other cold chain control logistics requirements while we prepare for the vaccines to come. I remind everybody that we are doing our utmost to hit a vaccination rate of 100 percent in Makati,

The aim of the Makati Health Department is to shut the vaccine depot next week.

At the Makati Coliseum, Binay led the inspection of the town’s COVID-19 vaccination simulation exercise.

Through the leader’s perspective about the pandemic. They believe that it is possible to combat the deadly virus’ transmission through prevention and it’s undeniable how people see the LGU’s actions through this.
