Night at the Museum #5 Songkhla Motifs is bringing two nights of culture, music and star gazing to the south of Thailand. With the theme of Music and Night at the Museum #5: Songkhla Motifs, the event is held at Songkhla National Museum from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on September 11–12, 2026, offering a variety of activities for visitors to enjoy after hours at the museum, including a music show and stargazing sessions at Songkhla.

The Songkhla Motifs event programme is packed with activities for a four hour evening programme that will take place on both September 11 and 12.
Thailand’s government information portal and the Fine Arts Department say entry to the nighttime festival is free in general. The event is happening at a very interesting time, as the visitors are encouraged to visit the museum’s historic areas before the building is renovated.
The highlight of the event is Museum Theater, a sensory light, sound show set around the theme of Songkhla Motifs that immerses the audience. It is a mix of local history, visuals and a tasting menu made with local ingredients.

The theatre will be open for 2 shows a day at 6.30 pm and 7.30 pm with a capacity of 40 persons per show. This event is not free like the main festival, and must be booked in advance via the Songkhla National Museum Facebook inbox.

Songkhla Stargazing at Sky Motifs
Among the event’s more unusual features is Sky Motifs, which will introduce astronautism to the museum experience.
The Regional Observatory for the Public, Songkhla, is supporting activities of stargazing as a means to introduce people to patterns in the night sky. The programme also includes Moon and Jupiter balloon displays in an astronomy theme park that will be ideal for photos and evening astronomy.
Since actual astronomical viewing is subject to the sky’s conditions and weather, visitors who want to come and look at the stars, in Songkhla at least, should verify the sky conditions before going out.
