PEMERKASA Plus plan which has been given an allocation of RM40 billion has been announced by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
This plan aims to enhance the capacity of the public health, continue the Prihatin Rakyat Agenda, and support the business continuity.
PEMERKASA Plus involves spending an additional RM2.1 billion towards the Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat (BPR) program.
Households earning under RM2,500, will be given RM500.
Households with income between RM2,501 to RM5,000, will receive RM300.
While Bachelors will receive RM100.
Besides the last phase of the BPR which will be ending this September, these payments will be made at the end of the month of June.
While those who no longer belongs to the category who have jobs will be given an option to choose between receiving an automatic moratorium for three months or a reduction in paying back their loans by 50% for 6 months. These are those who belong to B40 category which also involves the micro-enterprises, and SMEs that are not allowed to operate during MCO.
The taxi and bus drivers who are eligible could get a moratorium on their loans up to 12 months and extend their loans by 36 months.
MARA will continue the MARA PRIHATIN Peace of Mind program until 31 July 2021.
Those who applied for the loan can also apply online for rescheduling of student loan repayments or a moratorium.
MARA entrepreneurs who have been impacted by the economic closure will be granted a discount of 30 per cent on their rental of business premises for the months of May to July 2021.
SOCSO’s Wage Subsidy Program will also continue for one more month for all the economic sectors who have been affected which will be limited to 500 employees per application.
