Zii Jia advances to the quarterfinals of the Indonesian Open

Malaysia – During the 2022 Indonesian Open, the winner of the men’s singles event at the national level, Lee Zii Jia, exhibited an energizing performance to earn a victory against Sameer Verma of India and proceed to the quarterfinals of the tournament.

“I feel as if I’m growing used to the large number of people who are here. It’s a really healthy habit for me to keep up with. As we go on to the next round, let’s hope that everything goes well.

“My objective is to win the Indonesian Open and claim the title of champion.” The BWF Super 1000 is a significant competition that is currently taking place. He remarked, “Hopefully, I’ll be able to give this one hundred percent of my focus.”

The 24-year-old will face Loh Kean Yew of Singapore in the quarterfinals. Loh Kean Yew overcame Toma Junior Popov of France 21-16, 21-9 in the second round. Toma Junior Popov was eliminated.

In the mixed doubles competition, the Malaysian duo of Hoo Pang Ron and Toh Ee Wei were victorious, besting their countrymen Goh Soon Huat and Shevon Jemie Lai. 21-19, 21-19.

Pang Ron-Ee Wei will play South Korean duo Seo Seung Jae-Chae Yu Jung, who upset host pair Sabar Karyaman Gutama-Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani 21-13, 21-11.

After suffering a loss against the Chinese team of Du Yue and Li Wen May in the second round of the women’s doubles competition, Vivian Hoo and Lim Chiew Sien were forced to retire from the competition. They were defeated in three sets by a score of 21-10, 13-21, and 21-9.
