Ku Li resigns as chairman of the UMNO advisory board

Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah, a Gua Musang Member of Parliament, has resigned from his position as head of the UMNO Advisory Board.

Ku Li, an UMNO veteran, attributed his dissatisfaction to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakub‘s selections for government positions, which he said were too similar to those made by the latter’s predecessor, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who he felt was a letdown.

According to him, of course, the elected leaders and members of the cabinet who replaced the failed administration have received blessings from the UMNO leadership, despite the frustration expressed by the general public and the party’s grassroots as a result of the fact that almost all posts were filled by members of the failed government in the first place.

“Can they assist our party in reversing its GE15 loss and bringing the suspended Parliament back to life? Were they reliable in helping the party win the 15th General Election? This was stated in a letter sent by Tengku Razaleigh on September 20 and addressed to UMNO president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, sighted in reports.

He reiterated as well that Ismail Sabri is also the vice-president of the UMNO party.

Some sources coming from the UMNO party also verified that the letter was authentic.

The Tengku also reminded Zahid that the UMNO 2020 general assembly, which was held in March of this year, had passed a resolution to determine whether or not the party will cooperate with Bersatu in the next general election.

After thanking Zahid for appointing him to the position in July of last year, he concluded the letter by stating that he has chosen to quit from the “unconstitutional post.” ”I’d also want to use this chance to express my gratitude to you for providing me with the chance to play a tiny role in the trip of our party,” he stated.
