President Marcos jr. meets President Biden

It was confirmed on Tuesday by Malacaang that Philippine President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and his American counterpart Joe Biden will meet here in the Philippines this week.

Biden will host a reception on September 21 (September 22 in Manila) for all heads of state who are attending the United Nations General Assembly. Marcos, who arrived in New York City on Sunday, will hold a bilateral meeting with Biden. Biden will also host a reception on September 21. (UNGA).

In July, Philippine Ambassador to the US Jose Manuel Romualdez said that President Joe Biden invited former President Ferdinand Marcos to visit the United States through a handwritten letter brought by US second gentleman Douglas Emhoff, who was his personal emissary to the Filipino leader’s residence.

Romualdez said that the letter was delivered by US second gentleman Douglas Emhoff. On Wednesday in New York City, Marcos is also scheduled to meet with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, in addition to meeting with President Joe Biden.

During his visit to the Filipino community in New Jersey on Sunday, the President expressed his optimism that his upcoming trip to the United States will be a successful one. He plans to meet with President Joe Biden as well as other world leaders, which will highlight the close ties that exist between the Philippines and the United States.

The President has stated that he plans to meet with prominent business people while he is in the Philippines, particularly given the country’s gradual recovery from the COVID-19 outbreak, in order to discuss prospective investment opportunities.
